AarhusKarlshamn was formed in September 2005 through the merger of Danish specialty vegetable oils and fats company Aarhus United and Swedish competitor Karlshamns.

The company’s organisation is to be based on six business areas: food ingredients Continental Europe, food ingredients UK, food ingredients Nafta, specialty fats for the chocolate and confectionery industry, technical products, and oils for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

The new company, whose main office will be established in Copenhagen, has around 2,500 employees and turnover of SEK10bn or DKK8bn.
