Axfood is a Swedish food retailer and wholesaler with operations conducted through three chains; Willys, Hemköp and PrisXtra, comprising 222 stores in total.

In addition, Axfood collaborates with 500 proprietor-run stores that are tied to Axfood through agreements. These include stores within the Hemköp and Willys chains as well as stores run under the Handlar’n and Tempo banners.

Wholesale business is conducted through Dagab and Axfood Närlivs.

Axfood is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, Nordic Large Cap list. Axel Johnson AB is the principal owner.

In June 2005, the company signed an agreement to acquire Bra Storlivs' four stores.

In December 2007, the Swedish retailer bought small Stockholm grocer PrisXtra for an undisclosed sum.
