Job description:

Our clients have enjoyed significant expansion and growth over the last year with some parts of the business posting their best figures to date in terms of profitability and turnover. With this in mind they are now looking to strengthen their technical team with this key appointment.

The purpose of the role is to provide overall technical expertise/support and assistance to all business units as well as carry out Food Safety and Hygiene audits of own label suppliers. You will assist Group companies set up and maintain appropriate systems for Third Party Accreditation, maintain communication links throughout the Group and act as the Technical representative on National Account/Retail business

MAIN DUTIES:

1. Supplier Screening (Overseas travel to suppliers either alone or with customers as required)
2. Customer Liaison on Technical to major National Accounts/Retail customers.
3. Third Party Accreditation/Internal Audit
4. Manage generation, maintenance and availability of Product Specifications
5. Technical Information Management liaising with trade organisations/agencies and enforcement authorities
6. Product Development Managing/co-coordinating a critical path analysis of development projects, communicating with relevant departments.

The successful candidate with hold a Food related degree or equivalent and have a proven track record in key technical roles within chilled, short shelf life food. While the post does not have any direct reports, excellent interpersonal skills are a must. You will be willing to travel both within the UK and internationally and combine a level headed, mature attitude with an organised approach.
