This decrease in revenues was primarily driven by several factors including steep rise in commodity prices and significant decline in consumer spending. The operating loss of the company was £176.3 million (approximately $282.8 million) in FY2011, compared to an operating profit of £220 million (approximately $352.9 million) in FY2010. The net loss was £339 million (approximately $543.7 million) in FY2011, compared to a net loss of £99.3 million (approximately $159.3 million) in FY2010.
