SWEDEN: AarhusKarlshamn reports robust Q1

AarhusKarlshamn (AAK), the vegetable fat producer, has reported a jump in first-quarter sales and earnings.

Sales climbed 24% for the first quarter to SEK3.7bn (US$624m), from SEK2.97bn in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
The company said its operating result, excluding non-recurring items, rose by 28% to SEK207m, from SEK162m.

Profit after tax reached SEK229m, against SEK88m last year. 
 
AAK, formed three years ago by the merger of Aarhus United A/S and Karlshamns AB, is the world's leading manufacturer of high-value-added specialty vegetable fats.
