Dixy supermarket sales soared 154.5% thanks to its acquisition

Russian retailer Dixy has booked an increase in nine-month sales, boosted by its acquisition of rival Victoria.

Group sales in the January to September period climbed 56.2% to RUR106.74bn (US$3.41bn), while like-for-like sales grew 5.35%.

Revenues from the group's neighbourhood stores reached RUR83.3bn, a 48.4% increase on the prior-year, while supermarket sales soared 154.5% to RUR13.9bn thanks to sales from the Victoria stores it acquired in June last year.

Megamart hypermarket revenues increased to RUR7.8bn, 32.8% growth on last year.

- today announced consolidated revenue growth of 56.2% in RUR (44.5% in USD) for the first nine months of 2012 compared to the same period last year, and consolidated revenue growth by 21.6% in  Russian rubles (17.7% in US dollars) for September 2012.

For the first nine months of 2012 the DIXY Group opened 258 new stores, and, as of September 30, 2012, had 1,343 stores under operation, including 1,287 neighborhood stores, 37 supermarkets, 18 compact hypermarkets and 1 cash&carry store.

DIXY Group Total Consolidated Revenue

DIXY Group total consolidated revenue (including Victoria Group revenue from the acquisition date of September 15, 2011) increased to 106.7 billion RUR (3.4 billion USD) by 56.2% in RUR (44.5% in USD) for the first nine months of 2012 compared to the same period last year.

In September 2012, DIXY Group total consolidated revenue increased to 11.6 billion RUR (367.0 million USD) by 21.6% in RUR (17.7% in USD) year-on-year.

DIXY Group total revenue for the first nine months of 2012 increased by 21.5% in RUR (12.4% in USD) year-on-year on pro-forma basis (including Victoria Group revenue from the beginning of FY2011).
