US: ADM reshapes management structure

By: just-food.com | 23 August 2007

US-based ingredients giant Archer Daniels Midland has revamped its management structure, claiming the new-look business will "enhance its operating efficiency and provide clearer lines of responsibility for long-term success".

Under the re-jig, around 30 of ADM's top executives will have new roles or increased responsibilities.

A notable move will see executive vice president John Rice lead ADM's new commercial and production division. Rice will oversee global origination, merchandising, processing and marketing across ADM's major business lines.

Meanwhile, Steve Mills, senior vice president for strategic planning, will take on additional responsibility for specialty food ingredients.

"The reorganisation represents the next step in our process to position ADM for continued success," said ADM president and CEO Patricia Woertz.

"We have defined our longer-term strategy and areas of focus; now we are aligning our organisation and leadership to execute our business plans."
