UK: Advanced Food Safety wins award for innovative food hygiene course
Advanced Food Safety Limited has received an Innovation Award sponsored by Heinz at the prestigious Wigan and Leigh Business Awards.
The annual awards organised by Wigan Borough Partnership is one of the leading business awards recognising business achievements in the North West of England.
Advanced Food Safety launched SAFER FOOD On-Line which is the first Internet/email based food hygiene course accredited by the Royal Institute of Public Health & Hygiene. The course has been taken by candidates from all over the World and has been licensed to training companies in Chile & Holland.
The company has also developed a food safety quality management system based on the requirements of the British Retail Consortium Standard which is particularly aimed at small and medium sized food manufacturers supplying 'own label' products to the major food retailers and food service organisations.
Russell Parry, Director of Advanced Food Safety stated "I am so pleased to be successful in these awards, to reach the final is a great achievement and it is very rewarding to have our work recognised in this way".
The Oscar style awards ceremony was held at the Waterside Conference Centre in Wigan and was presented by Phil Clarke, the former Wigan Rugby League player, Chief Executive and TV personality.
