Troubled Dutch retailer Ahold has replaced the chief executive officer of its Brazilian supermarket chain Bompreco. Ronald van Solt, a senior vice president at Ahold, is to replace Roberto Britto, who has been in charge of Bompreco for nearly a year. The changeover has come amid Ahold's attempt to withdraw from the Latin American market in order to pay off some of its €12bn (US$13.3bn) debt.
