UK firm Bart Spices has changed for the first time since the company was founded 50 years ago as it looks to emphasise the breadth of its portfolio.

The group has become Bart Ingredients Company, a move that reflected the company's development as a business since it was formed in 1963, head of marketing Camilla Bond told just-food.

"We're now a much bigger business than herbs and spices and we wanted to make it more obvious to consumers that we are much more than herbs and spices," Bond said.

Private-equity firm Langholm Capital, which bought a majority stake in Bart in 2010 as part of a management buy-out of the business, has supported the creation of the new corporate identity with fresh investment in the company.
