BRAZIL: Brazil Fast Food launches internet-based delivery program
Customers interested in using the new service can simply go to the Bob's Internet site at www.bobs.com.br, click on "Delivery," and enter their area code to get routed to the nearest Bob's location. Participating Bob's restaurants will launch local marketing campaigns to notify existing and prospective customers of the program. If successful, the program will be rolled out to about two-thirds of the company's network of restaurants throughout the country during 2001.
Peter van Voorst Vader, president and CEO of Brazil Fast Food Corp., commented, "There are a number of significant potential advantages to this program. Firstly, it enables even the busiest of Bob's Rio de Janeiro customers to order their favorite fast food, simply by clicking a mouse. It also will help us achieve greater administrative efficiency by connecting the information systems for participating stores with our Company's central system. In addition, because participating stores are now able to process debit cards and credit checks online, the program reduces our exposure to bad checks. And it provides an online connection to our loyalty card, which helps our customers earn local air miles."
Brazil Fast Food currently has more than 210 restaurant locations in its chain. Brazil Fast Food Corp., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Venbo Comercio de Alimentos Ltda., a limited liability company that conducts business under the trade name "Bob's," owns and operates (both directly and through franchisees) the second largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants in Brazil. More information on the Company is available on its Web site at www.bobs.com.br. This press release may contain certain forward-looking statements, which are subject to change. Actual results may differ from those described in any forward-looking statements. Additional information concerning potential factors that could affect the Company's financial results are included in the Company's Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 1999.
