US: Campbell makes two senior appointments

Campbell Soup Co. has made two senior appointments within its North America and Asia Pacific divisions.

Mark Alexander will succeed Archbold van Beuren as senior vice president-chief customer office and president North America baking and snacking.

Van Beuren has been nominated for election to the company's board of directors.

Alexander, who joined Campbell in 1989 and has held marketing, sales and management roles globally, will be responsible for the company's global sales teams in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

He will also oversee the group's Pepperidge Farm business.

Chris Delaney, president of emerging markets since 2006, succeeds Alexander as president of Asia-Pacific. Based in Sydney, he will be responsible for developing the company's business in China.

Douglas Conant, Campbell's president and CEO said: "I am delighted that two dynamic executives will be leading these important organisations. I am confident that both executives will continue to make important contributions to our company."

Concurrently with these appointments, Campbell will manage its Russian business as part of Campbell's European organisation, headed by John Sechi, president-Campbell Europe, and its Chinese business as part of its Asia Pacific organisation.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
