A new scientific device, which helps eliminate various types of bacteria from food products, has been patented in Canada. The ' rotary thermocycler ,' patent number 2255850, was developed by researchers at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada under the Food Research Program , in Guelph, Ontario. The device can detect and count bacteria in food, test for contaminants in water and count soil microbes. Bacteria are trapped on the system's filters and processed through several cycles of different temperatures and conditions.
