UK: Carr takes Cadbury chairman role

Cadbury today (21 July) formally confirmed the appointment of Roger Carr as non-executive chairman.

Carr replaces Sir John Sunderland, who is retiring from the role.

Sir John, who is a former president of the Confederation of British Industry, announced his retirement in October, after 40 years with the company.

Carr, who joined the board of Cadbury Schweppes in January 2001, is currently chairman of both British Gas owner Centrica and pub operator Mitchells & Butlers.
