NETHERLANDS: CFO Tewarie follows CEO out of Laurus
Dutch grocer Laurus today (Tuesday) announced its chief financial officer (CFO) Kenaad Tewarie is to leave the company.
Laurus lost its CEO Harry Bruijniks last month over differences of opinion over the company's strategic direction, and the company said that "it has been decided in mutual understanding [with Tewarie] to discontinue his association with the company".
R. van der Hoek will be appointed as interim CFO with immediate effect, pending the appointment of a new finance chief, the company said.
The market reacted positively to the news: "We believe that after CEO Harry Bruijniks already left the company, a fresh start can be made with (supermarkets) Super de Boer going forward," Patrick Roquas at Rabo Securities said in a note.
