Charlie Bigham's has introduced a new ready meal range for two

UK firm Charlie Bigham's has expanded its ready meals offering with a range that include its first foray into Indian cuisine.

Charlie Bigham's has developed a World Ready Meal line designed for two people. The company said the range of six products "gives consumers a favourite world recipe and the perfect side dish in a convenient one-step oven-cook format".

The range includes Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma, both served with Pilau Rice. It also has products like Chili con Carne and Mexican Rice, as well as Two Chicken Breasts in White Wine Sauce and Mash.

The new listings, which have an RRSP of GBP7, take the Charlie Bigham's range to 33 lines. It said sales of the new dishes are expected to bring in approximately GBP2.5m (US$4.7m) over the next year.

"This is a great time for the business. We have been consistently reporting fantastic growth that has also been incremental for our retailers, we are in the middle of our first ever national advertising campaign and we're now launching six new dishes that push the boundaries of fantastic food made without compromise even further," company founder Charlie Bigham said.

The new range is available from the end of this month in Waitrose and Ocado and from June in regional UK retailer Booths.

Charlie Bigham's – purveyors of posh ready meals and the fastest growing ready meal brand in the UK*, have added a new range of six delicious dishes to their already popular and rapidly growing selection of handmade ready meals for two.

 

The brand, now worth over £20m, has retained its title of the fastest growing ready meal in the UK, reporting a 72% year on year growth at the end of their financial year with continued strong sales in Waitrose and Sainsbury's. The new listings take the Charlie Bigham's range to 33 lines and sales of the new dishes are expected to bring in approximately £2.5m RSV over the next year. The launch is the brand’s biggest since 2010 and will have the largest media support of any Charlie Bigham’s launch to date, with a press and outdoor campaign starting as soon as it goes on shelf.

 

The new additions are part of Charlie Bigham's innovative World Ready Meal range for two, which gives consumers a favourite world recipe and the perfect side dish in a convenient one-step oven cook format, delivered in bespoke packaging that looks so good it can go straight from the oven to the table.

 

 The new range also sees the brand launch their first Indian ready meals: although Charlie Bigham founded his company after being inspired by his travels round the Middle East and India, it has taken almost 20 years for Charlie to create the perfect Indian dishes!

 

The range launches with two of the UK’s most popular Indian curries: Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma, both served with Pilau Rice. These will be joined by four more handmade dishes for 2: Thai Red Chicken Curry & Fragrant Rice; Chili con Carne & Mexican Rice, Spanish Chicken & Roasted Potatoes, 2 Chicken Breasts in White Wine Sauce & Mash.
