US fresh produce company Chiquita Brands International has announced that it has named Tanios Viviani as vice president of its fresh cut fruit unit.
Viviani will be responsible for leading Chiquita Fresh Cut Fruit, which began serving customers in the Midwestern United States in the fourth quarter 2003.
The current Chiquita Fresh Cut Fruit product line consists of various combinations of watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries and grapes in consumer-friendly packaging in a variety of sizes, from single servings to party trays, using proprietary technology to promote shelf life and food safety.
Prior to joining Chiquita, Viviani served for 15 years at US consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble in key domestic and international roles. Most recently, he was global director of new business development for P&G's fabric care division.
