US: Corazonas launches cholesterol-reducing potato chips
By: just-food.com | 4 January 2008
Heart-healthy snack food creator Corazonas Foods is launching what it claims to be the first cholesterol-reducing potato chip.
The Corazonas Heart-Healthy Potato Chips are produced using a patented technology infusing plant sterols into the chip. The company said this makes them the "first and only potato chip clinically proven to reduce low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol by up to 15%."
The potato chip, to be launched this month in time for February's American Heart Health Month, will be available in five flavours, adding to the company's growing list of heart-healthy snack products, including their Heart-Healthy Tortilla Chips.
