UKRAINE: Dairy firm Ukrproduct flags "buoyant" showing
By just-food.com | 14 December 2007
Ukrproduct, the Ukrainian dairy firm, has said its performance in the second half of this year has been "buoyant".
The London-listed firm told the market today (14 December) that it was performing ahead of expectations and was "likely" to post an after-tax profit of GBP3m (US$6.1m).
"Gross margins are being sustained in all categories, particularly in smoked sausage cheese where there has been a steady increase in gross profitability," Ukrproduct said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
"The macroeconomic environment in which the group operates remains conducive to the group's business. Consumer demand domestically in Ukraine has been stable, or increasing in some product segments. World prices for skimmed milk powders, after rising substantially during the year, have stabilised at levels favourable to the group."
