Stonyfield has teamed up with Happy Family for the launch of a yoghurt pouch format

Danone has brought together two of US businesses, yoghurt firm Stonyfield Organic and baby food specialist Happy Family, to launch a co-branded range of kids yoghurts.

The babies, toddlers and kids yoghurts will be launched this summer.

Gary Hirshberg, chairman and co-founder of Stonyfield Organic, said the product would "offer the very best in infant and toddler nutrition".

He added: "Stonyfield and Happy Family share the core belief that organic food made without the use of toxic persistent pesticides and GMOs is the very best for little ones."

Danone acquired 40% of Stonyfield in 2001, raising its investment to 80% three years later. The French group snapped up over 90% of Happy Family last summer.

Shazi Visram, founder and CEO and Happy Family, stayed with the business. She said: "Stonyfield and Happy Family yogurt pouches offer a convenient and portable option for busy families looking for delicious fruit and vegetable combinations their kids love and that also deliver the organic promise parents trust."

The yogurt pouches will be sold individually and in packs of four starting from July. The suggested retail prices are US$1.49 and $4.99, respectively.

The line includes: YoBaby Yogurt Pouches available in blueberry, mango, sweet potato and vanilla; YoTot Yoghurt pouches in pear spinach mango and strawberry beet raspberry; and YoKids Yoghurt Pouches in blueberry, strawberry and strawberry banana.

Stonyfield, the world's leading organic yogurt maker, today announces a new partnership with Happy Family, the brand that revolutionized the baby food industry with the introduction of pouch packaging to replace glass jars.

Stonyfield's popular yogurts for babies, toddlers and kids, now available in convenient pouches, will be co-branded with Happy Family this summer. The brands make this joint announcement as they debut the full line at Expo West, the country's leading natural and organic trade show. This is the first co-branded collaboration of this type for both brands, marrying the leader in organic yogurt with a leader in organic baby food.

"Stonyfield and Happy Family share the core belief that organic food made without the use of toxic persistent pesticides and GMOs is the very best for little ones. It's truly exciting to work together to offer the very best in infant and toddler nutrition that also makes life a little easier for parents," said Gary Hirshberg, Chairman and co-founder of Stonyfield Organic.

"Stonyfield & Happy Family yogurt pouches offer a convenient and portable option for busy families looking for delicious fruit and vegetable combinations their kids love and that also deliver the organic promise parents trust," continued Shazi Visram, founder, CEO and Chief Mom of Happy Family. "We're thrilled to be able to offer parents even more options for healthy products made with optimum nutrition." Not only is yogurt delicious, but it helps kids grow into the best, strongest, healthiest grownups they can be.

"Yogurt is a perfect, nutrient-dense food that can grow with your baby from a first food to a healthy lunchbox snack. I always recommend choosing an organic option and Stonyfield's YoBaby, YoTot and YoKids yogurt pouches are wonderful sources of protein, balanced fats, carbohydrates, and minerals to aid growth and development," explained Dr. Bill Sears, one of America's most trusted pediatricians. Studies also suggest that organic whole milk provides even more nutritional benefits when compared to conventional milk.

Organic whole milk - and products made with it like Stonyfield YoBaby and YoTot yogurt pouches - have a far better concentration of the essential fatty acids (Omega-3s) that can support brain and heart health1.
