US: Ex-Macy's exec named as The Pantry chairman

US c-store retailer The Pantry has promoted director Edwin Holman to the role of chairman.

Holman, a director at The Pantry since 2005, will succeed Peter Sodini next Friday (25 September).

Holman has held senior roles at various retailers, most recently at Macy's Central, a division of Macy's, as chairman and CEO. His career has taken in roles at Federated Department Stores and Petrie Retail.

Last month, The Pantry named former Coca-Cola Enterprises executive Terry Marks as its new president and CEO.

Holman said: "As a board member for the past four years, I look forward to my new leadership role and working with Terry and the rest of the Board in positioning The Pantry for continued growth and success."
