CANADA: Former Coke exec joins SunOpta

SunOpta has appointed Eric Davis to the position of vice president and CFO, effective 16 March.

Davis will report to Steve Bromley, the Canadian organics firm's president and CEO. His responsibilities will include overseeing the company's financial activities including financial reporting, banking and treasury, tax, investor relations and special projects.

Prior to joining SunOpta, Davis was CFO for Grant Forest Products, a Canadian manufacturer of oriented strand board. Davis has also held the CFO position at Coca-Cola Co. in Canada and in the Asia-Pacific market.

John Dietrich, the company's current CFO, will provide transition assistance to Davis for a period of time and then is expected to assume a new role within the organisation.

His extensive financial experience in manufacturing, food, distribution and international industries will make Eric a valuable addition as we focus on maximising our strategic capabilities while driving profitable growth and return on equity," Bromley said.
