USA: Fresh Choice, Inc. and Starbucks Coffee Company sign licensing agreement
The first licensed location will be unveiled in early November when a Fresh Choice Express opens in the recently completed "Shops at Willow Bend" in Plano, Texas. Additional licensed locations in select Fresh Choice Express restaurants will be determined jointly by Starbucks and Fresh Choice.
"We look forward to our relationship and extending the Starbucks Experience to Fresh Choice patrons," said Hank Suerth, senior vice president, Business Alliances for Starbucks.
Under the agreement, fully-branded licensed Starbucks locations will be an integrated element into Fresh Choice Express restaurants and will offer handcrafted espresso beverages, drip coffee and a selection of freshly baked pastries. Fresh Choice Express restaurants feature a selection of fresh salads, signature soups, baked potatoes and made-to-order grilled sandwiches.
"The relationship with Starbucks underscores Fresh Choice's commitment to offer only the best products to its customers," said Everett (Jeff) Jefferson, president and CEO of Fresh Choice, Inc. "We see a real benefit in linking together two concepts, strengthening the appeal of the Fresh Choice Express brand, and providing multiple food and beverage options for our guests."
