Ireland's largest producer of milk and dairy products has posted a 9% rise in profits for 2006 thanks to strong overseas sales. The company predicted growth of at least 10% in the coming year.

Glambia profits rose to EUR66.4m (US$87.6m), up from EUR61.1m in 2005. Sales rose 1% to EUR1.85bn.

"Glanbia is on target to deliver double-digit earnings growth in 2007 and we believe the outlook is positive for sustained high growth," said the company.
