Matt Hill joined Heinz as chief marketing officer in August 2010

Matt Hill, chief commercial officer of HJ Heinz's business in the UK and Ireland, has been promoted to president of the unit.

Hill will take up his new role with immediate effect and takes over from Dave Woodward, who was appointed to the role of president of Heinz's rest of world business last month. He will report to Dave Moran, president and CEO of Heinz's operations in Europe.

Heinz hired Hill from Unilever in 2010, appointing him chief marketing officer for its UK and Ireland unit. He was appointed chief commercial officer for those markets in last year.
