US: Hormel launches profit sharing initiative

Hormel Foods has announced the largest profit sharing distribution made to its employees, with nearly US$15.4m being distributed to eligible hourly and salaried workers on Thanksgiving Eve.

"Our people are our greatest asset," said Jeff Ettinger, Hormel president, chief executive officer and chairman. "It is very appropriate at this time of year to recognise the employees who contribute to our success. With the profit sharing tradition begun by Jay C. Hormel in 1938, employees are able to benefit from the company's accomplishments."
