US: Hostess expands Nature's Pride line

Hostess Brands, the US baker, has expanded its Nature's Pride line-up with the introduction of a new Nutty Oat variety.

The all-natural bread is safe for consumers with nut allergies, provides 14 grams of whole grains per slice and is a "good source of fibre", the company said.

"Nature's Pride is committed to baking the best-tasting all natural breads using the purest, most delicious ingredients nature has to offer," said Laura Pitlik, director of marketing.

"We're thrilled to offer a bread with a tasty and distinctive nutty flavour that everyone - even people allergic to nuts - can enjoy."

Hostess Brands is the new name for Interstate Bakeries, which emerged from bankruptcy in February after four years.
