UK: IGD launches career advice website to encourage talent into the food industry
The UK's Institute of Grocery Distribution has launched an interactive website promoting the various career opportunities available in the food and grocery industry. The site, at www.careerchoices.org.uk, is aimed at school leavers, graduates, and the career service professionals who advise them.
As well as case histories and a wide range of information about employment possibilities in the sector, the site offers up-to-date information on applying for jobs and making the most of the selection process.
The IGD's CEO Joanne Denney commented: "It is often forgotten that the food and grocery industry employs over 16% of all employees in the UK. Many young people are not aware of the vast array of career opportunities on offer. Career Choices endeavours to enhance the image and create greater understanding of a career in food and grocery."
