UK police have charged a man in connection with the recent series of bomb threats at Tesco stores in the country.
Philip McHugh, 51, from Clitheroe in Lancashire, has been charged with two counts of blackmail and bomb hoaxing. McHugh was due in court this morning (26 July).
Earlier this month, Tesco was forced to close 14 stores across the UK following what was described as a major security alert.
Tesco's retail and logistics director David Potts said: "These were of course worrying threats and I am pleased that an individual has been arrested and charged."
