US: Maui Land & Pineapple appoints finance chief

Maui Land & Pineapple Co. (MLP) has appointed John Durkin as CFO with effect from 15 April.

Durkin most recently served as managing director as Nikko Citi Holdings in Tokyo and was formerly CFO of the Nikko Cordial Financial Group. He held a similar position at Ajinomoto General Foods.

He assumes the position previously held by Robert Webber, who was appointed MLP president and CEO on 1 January.

"John brings a wealth of finance expertise and relevant skills to MLP at a critical stage in our business," said Warren Haruki, MLP's chairman. "He is highly qualified to assume the responsibilities of our chief financial officer and lead our company's financial and operational initiatives."

MLP is a Hawaii corporation and successor to a business organised in 1909. Its principal operating subsidiaries are Maui Pineapple Co., a producer and marketer of Maui Gold pineapple, and Kapalua Land Co.
