THAILAND: New law will set maximum drug residue limit in meat products
The first law aimed at controlling the level of veterinary drug residue in meat products has been drafted by the Thai Ministry of Public Health. Ministerial regulation number 231/2544, which will be implemented in law next February, will impose a maximum residue limit (MRL) on all meat products sold on the market. It will also specify residue control on 29 veterinary drugs that are not generally considered dangerous to human health.
