FINLAND/POLAND: Raisio margarine sale gets green light

The Polish competition authorities have approved the sale of Raisio's margarine business to US agribusiness Bunge.

The Finnish maker of Benecol announced the EUR80m (US$108.5m) deal in May.

Raisio said that Bunge would take on its margarine plants in Finland and Poland, as well as brands including Keiju and Masmix.

The transaction will be concluded "in the near future", the firm said today (8 October).
