US private-label manufacturer Ralcorp Holdings has posted a 2% rise in quarterly profits after gains from recent acquisition Harvest Manor Farms.

The company, which also owns Post, the number three cereal maker in the US, yesterday (4 February) booked net income of US$67.2m for its fiscal first quarter, which ran until the end of December.

Net sales also rose 2%, climbing to $991.9m, as the acquisition of snack maker Harvest offset falling cereal and frozen food sales.
