CUBA: Seven sugar mills become museums for tourists
Seven of the 155 sugar refineries in Cuba will become museums as the sector continues to undergo a reform programme which began last March, according to Manuel Cordero, the leader of the National Sugar Workers Union. Cordero told Trabajadores magazine yesterday [Monday] that more than half of the refineries will close. The 71 most efficient will continue to operate, and 14 will be converted to produce molasses.
