NETHERLANDS: Store sales boost Super de Boer

Super de Boer, the second-largest grocer in the Netherlands, has posted a profit for 2007 as it sold off some loss-making stores.
The company, formerly known as Laurus, booked a net profit of EUR10m (US$15.2m), against a loss of EUR45m in 2006.
"From January 1, 2008, we said goodbye to the name Laurus and hence of the past. Super de Boer is on the up and will continue further in 2008," said CEO Jan Brouwer.
In the last 12 months, Super de Boer has sold off its Konmar and Edah stores and streamlined its distribution and logistics network.
Super de Boer booked like-for-like sales growth of 3.7% to EUR1.6bn.
