US: Supervalu restructures retail management

By: just-food.com | 23 October 2007

Supervalu has appointed Sue Klug president of its Southern California division. Klug was previously senior vice president, sales and marketing for the company's Retail West region.

She takes over from Pete Van Helden, who will focus his efforts on overseeing Retail West region. Van Helden had held responsibility for both positions since May 2006.

"Sue is a talented executive who has been a real catalyst for change at Albertsons and now Supervalu," said Jeff Noddle, Supervalu chairman and CEO. "With her broad industry experience and tremendous vision, I am confident that Sue will continue to help lead our company to new heights."

"Pete Van Helden is a recognised leader in this industry who has made a tremendous impact on our Retail West region over the past year," continued Noddle. "With Sue's promotion to president of Albertsons Southern California division and Pete's continued strategic guidance, I believe that the Retail West region is even better positioned for future success."
