US bakery group Tasty Baking Co. has launched a low-fat product line in a bid to continue their expansion in healthier product categories.

Tasy Baking has launched low-fat raspberry-filled Koffee Kake cupcakes and iced vanilla cupcakes.

"Sales of our 'better for you' products indicate that we can reach new customers by offering more choices," said Jon Silvon, director of marketing for Tasty Baking Co.

The launch comes as the Philadelphia-based firm plans a move to a new corporate 'green' head quarters.

The move to the newly-constructed bakery, has weighed on margins at the company, resulting in a fall in net income of 58.5% to US$200,000 on the back of the asset depreciation.

Tasty Baking Co. is one of the country's leading bakers of snack cakes, pies, cookies and donuts with manufacturing facilities in Philadelphia and Oxford, Pennsylvania.
