CANADA: Tate & Lyle completes Redpath sale

UK ingredients and sugar company Tate & Lyle has completed the sale of its Canadian business, known as Redpath, to American Sugar Refining.

When the deal was originally announced in February, Tate & Lyle told just-food that the move was part of its strategy to increase the company's focus on value-added products in Canada.

The net consideration for Redpath was GBP131m (US$261.88m), subject to closing adjustments and working capital.
