UK: Unilever appoints Mathieu as SVP of marketing
Unilever has appointed Marc Mathieu to the new role of senior vice president of marketing.
The company announced yesterday (3 March) that Mathieu will be responsible for delivering a "step-change" in the company's marketing skills and capabilities, as well as "developing the Unilever brand".
Uneilever said the move will "enable" it to achieve its ambition of "doubling the size of the business while reducing our environmental impact".
Mathieu previously held senior marketing roles at Coca-Cola and Danone and will report to chief marketing and communications officer Keith Weed.
"The fact that we have attracted a marketer of Marc's calibre demonstrates just how exciting a place Unilever is to do marketing right now," Weed said. "His appointment completes the redesign of my marketing, communications and sustainability leadership team. This talented group of individuals combines the knowledge, experience, and energy to ensure we become a truly exceptional marketing company - consistently."
Weed will lead a team comprising Paul Nevett, VP Unilever brand; Paula Quazi, VP future communications, Ros Walker, VP marketing capability and academy; Jorgen Bartsch, VP marketing services; and Helena Ganczakowski, VP agency relations.
