US: Unilever boosts distribution network

Unilever is developing two new US distribution centres, with a total surface area of some 1.59m sq ft, one in Jacksonville, Florida and another in Dallas.

Construction began recently on the 772,000 sq ft Jackonville unit, which will be located at Westlake Industrial Park. Work is scheduled be completed by September 2008.

Duke Realty, the contractor chosen for both projects, is to begin construction of Unilever's Southwest distribution facility at the Sunridge Business Park in the city of Wilmer, to the south of Dallas, this month.

The 882,000 sq ft facility is scheduled to be completed in October 2008.
