US: Weis names sales VP

US retailer Weis Markets has named Kurt Schertle vice president of sales and merchandising.

Schertle will oversee all aspects of the company's marketing, merchandising and advertising for the company's centre store, perishable and pharmacy departments. He will also oversee advertising, procurement and private label, pricing and marketing.

Schertle replaces Wayne Bailey, who has become VP of operational administration.
