Whole Foods Markets has said that it is on-track to open its flagship UK store in London in early June.

The organic and natural foods retailer, which currently operates six Fresh & Wild stores in the UK, said that the opening of the 80,000 square foot store in High Street Kensington was a significant development for the company's expansion in the UK market.

"The opening of Whole Foods Market in London is a milestone for the company.  We're bringing together the collective creativity of our entire company, inspiration from around the globe, and the natural and exotic flavours from the UK and around the world," said Rick Bonin, regional vice president, UK for Whole Foods Market.

Whole Foods Market only sells foods that are free of artificial flavours, colours, sweeteners, preservatives, and hydrogenated fats. The company focuses its product offering on natural and organic products and places an emphasis on local sourcing.
