The 7-Eleven convenience-store chain is expanding its offering of "better-for-you" foods to include more fresh produce and smaller-portion items.

The Texas-based chain is now featuring large selections of 100-calorie portions of popular snacks, energy and protein bars, as well as more sugar-free cold drinks, vitamin-enhanced waters, yogurt and meal-replacement shakes. A selection of Pick Smart fresh foods will feature foods with lower fat and calorie content, such as fresh fruit cups, veggie trays, fruit juice smoothies, and low-calorie dried noodle soups.

The chain, which has 7,100 North American stores, will also expand its offering of nuts, seeds and foods containing dark chocolate.
