ADM has announced three executive appointments

US agribusiness giant Archer Daniels Midland has made three senior appointments across the company.

ADM said yesterday (12 August) said that Craig Huss would become chief risk officer, Joe Taets had been named senior vice president and president, agricultural services, and Domingo Lastra is set to take a role of vice president, business growth.

The company said that the three executives will report to COO Juan Luciano and the appointments are effective immediately.

Huss, who has worked for the company since 1976 and was most recently president, agricultural services. He will oversee ADM's risk management strategy, will lead the company's productivity and cost-management efforts and chair the group's risk management committee.

Taets will lead the company's agricultural services unit, with responsibility for commercial activities and operations. He also joins the company's strategic planning committee. He was most recently president of ADM's grain group. He joined the company in 1988.

Lastra, who joined ADM in 1995 and was previously president of its operations in South America, will focus on expanding the company's acquisition pipeline to drive earnings growth. He will also look at strengthening the company's marketing  and manage the company's portfolio to deliver shareholder returns.

"These appointments will strengthen our organisational structure and ensure that we are properly aligned to achieve these results. We have an exciting opportunity to grow our company and I believe we have the right priorities and people to deliver returns for our shareholders" Luciano said.
