Dutch retailer Ahold is reported to be considering moving its corporate headquarters from Zaandam, where the company began as a grocery retailer in 1887.

One of the possibilities being considered is the transfer of around 100 staff to a building near Pasengers Terminal Amsterdam on the waterfront of the capital city, Reuters reported, citing a Dutch television report.

According to the report, Ahold's Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn, would remain based in Zaandam.
