Swiss chocolate maker Barens Group is to introduce its Amador brand in the UK, the first of several product launches in the country over the next 12 months.

Barens said it was looking to "shake up" the UK chocolate sector and is looking at listings in the retail and foodservice sectors for Amador.

"After already making a name for itself in international markets for the high quality and diverse product range it offers, the launch of Amador signifies the start of Barens' UK growth strategy," said Barens national sales manager David Williams. "We believe the Amador range not only offers incredible value to consumers but will also provide a wide range of retail and foodservice outlets with good margins and the versatility to target different chocolate occasions."

Amador, a range of individually wrapped, filled milk chocolates, will be available in three popular flavours including mint, hazelnut and orange.

Each 125g bag will be have an RRP of GBP1.99 (US$3.25).
