Indian biscuit maker Britannia Industries has posted net profit of INR533m (US$10.8m) for the quarter ended 30 September, up from net profit of INR484.7m booked during the comparable period of last year.

Britannia saw net sales rise to INR83.8bn, up from INR65.8bn, the company revealed yesterday (29 October) in a filing with the Bombay stock exchange.
