Food ingredients group Chr. Hansen has today (1 March) announced a collaboration with Vietnamese dairy Vinamilk to develop bioscience-based nutrition products for Vietnamese children.

Denmark-based Chr. Hansen said that the first product of the co-operations is a nutrition product called 'Dielac Pedia' which will be launched shortly and contains a blend of Chr. Hansen's probiotic strains BB-12 and LGG.

"The unfulfilled nutritional needs of children differ from country to country, relying on various factors such as socio-economy and living habits. The thorough understanding of such needs is a good point of departure for Vinamilk to develop specific nutritional products for Vietnamese children," said Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Vinamilk's executive director of R&D and production. "Our strategic cooperation with Chr. Hansen will significantly support us in developing breakthrough products in world-class quality which fit the needs of Vietnamese children."

Vinamilk already uses Chr. Hansen probiotic products in its nutrition products.
