Compagnie Fruitière, the France-based fresh produce supplier, has opened a ripening facility in Hungary.
The site, located near Budapest, will make Compagnie Fruitière “even closer” to wholesale customers in the country, the company said on Friday (29 January).
The facility has 12 two-tier ripening rooms, each holding 24 pallets and providing a ripening capacity of 20,000 boxes a week.
Compagnie Fruitière markets more than 800,000 tonnes of fruit throughout Europe, the Maghreb and in Africa.
Last year, Compagnie Fruitière attracted three new minority investors in the business.
