Farmer-owned food and agricultural cooperative Land O'Lakes has announced that Gary Corbett is to head its fluid milk supply division.

Corbett previously served as VP for Dairy and Governance with Dean Foods, Inc.

"Corbett brings extensive dairy industry and fluid-milk marketing experience and expertise to our milk-supply operations," said company president and CEO Jack Gherty. "Bringing Gary on board is a reflection of Land O' Lakes commitment to establishing a strong presence, and taking a leadership role, in the consolidating fluid-milk industry."

In his new role, Corbett will report to executive VP and COO for Dairy Foods Chris Policinski. Corbett will take over from VP for public affairs Don Berg, who has led the division since it was organized in October, 2001. Berg will now concentrate on public, member and governmental affairs activities.

Policinski said: "Gary will bring considerable experience and an intense focus on fluid-milk supply to our Dairy Foods operations.

"We look forward to Gary's positive input in, and impact on, not only our performance in the fluid-milk supply area, but on our overall Dairy Foods operations."

Corbett's past experience includes multiple leadership positions with Dean Foods, as well as with such dairy industry organizations as Dairyman's Cooperative Creamery Association and Swiss Valley Farms.

Corbett said he is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities offered in his new position: "Land O'Lakes has a solid reputation as a leader in the dairy industry. I look forward to the opportunity to play an active role in building on that reputation and continuing that leadership ... with a focus on achieving the procurement and fluid-milk marketing efficiencies necessary to serve customers in the consolidating fluid bottling and dairy-manufacturing industries."
